French bone densitometry and x-ray equipment vendor Diagnostic Medical Systems has signed a distribution agreement with China Resources Wandong Medical Equipment to sell its Platinum digital radiography (DR) system in China.
CR Wandong, a subsidiary of China Resources Holdings, currently has 25% of the market share in China for its conventional and fluoroscopy radiology tables, according to DMS. It also designs and manufactures open MRI systems.
The terms of the agreement are currently limited to marketing and sales of the Platinum DR system by CR Wandong to about 1,000 hospitals in China, after regulatory approval is received from the Chinese government. The Montpellier-headquartered company expects to receive this approval in mid-2014.
