Royal Philips Electronics, parent company of Philips Healthcare, announced a long-term partnership with Burjeel Hospital in Abu Dhabi to provide medical equipment and all services related to it.
The contract guarantees long-term value for the new 196-bed hospital in the United Arab Emirates by future-proofing the installed technology against predictable operational costs, the company stated.
A multidisciplinary team of Philips employees were involved during the early stages of the hospital's planning and development to determine the hospital's initial and future medical equipment and modality requirements.
This included a fully-equipped hybrid cardiac catherization lab, CT and MRI scanners, digital mammography system, ultrasound machines, and patient monitoring systems. The CT and MRI suites incorporate Philips' Ambient Experience environmental room designs that are intended to reduce patient anxiety.
