eHealth Week unveils keynote speakers

Seven speakers will deliver keynote addresses at eHealth Week, to be held in Budapest, Hungary, from May 10-12.

Keynote speakers at this year's meeting include the following:

  • Albert-László Barabási, PhD, director at the Center of Complex Networks Research at Northeastern University and the department of medicine at Harvard University
  • Dr. Eric Lepage, PhD, EPR director at the Assistance Publique-Hôpitaux de Paris (AP-HP)
  • Uwe Poettgen, chief information officer at the Asklepios Hospital Group
  • Dr. C. Martin Harris, chief information officer at the Cleveland Clinic
  • Dr. Madi Tiik, CEO of the Estonian eHealth Foundation

Political keynote speeches will be delivered by Neelie Kroes, vice president of the European Commission and European Digital Agenda commissioner, and Dr. Miklos Szocska, minister of state for health of Hungary.

During eHealth Week, European community members gather to discuss the advancement of healthcare through IT, according to co-organizer Jeremy Bonfini, also the executive vice president of global services for the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS).

eHealth Week is a joint meeting between the European Commission's High Level Ministerial Conference and the World of Health IT Conference and Exhibition.
