The Europe branch of the Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE-Europe) has launched its redesigned website. The new site features links to five pan-European initiatives and nine national programs, and highlights success stories from regional implementations.
The website profiles the role of IHE-Europe in promoting greater interoperability among healthcare systems in six languages. The site also connects users and vendors of health information systems to upcoming events, such as the Connectathon in Pisa, Italy, a five-day event whose main purpose is to test the interoperability and connectivity of healthcare IT systems.
The 2011 IHE-Europe Connectathon will take place at the Stazione Leopolda in Pisa from 11 to 15 April. About 200 engineers are likely to take part, with representatives from more than 90 companies. A number of "parallel events," including daily roundtables and seminars on specific healthcare topics, have been scheduled. AuntMinnieEurope will be covering the event, so please make sure you check back for articles from Pisa during the next few days.
"E-health is now moving closer to patients, and the new website helps to inform a wider audience, encouraging them to join the movement and help shape the future of patient care," said Jacqueline Surugue and Peter Kuenecke, user and vendor co-chairs for IHE-Europe.
The website also features European Union projects, press releases, and news articles.
