Oncology firm Elekta has sold its 49% stake in Swedish engineering firm Motala Verkstad to Qeep Ventures.
Under a long-term supplier agreement, Motala Verkstad of Motala provides a subsystem for Elekta's Leksell Gamma Knife, and it also coordinates the transportation of subsystems to Elekta's customers, according to Elekta of Stockholm.
Elekta said it had been looking for a stable majority owner to develop Motala Verkstad's business. Elekta believes the sale will result in growth and secure long-term continued production of the Leksell Gamma Knife subsystem.
