Siemens scores big Spanish deal

Siemens Healthcare of Erlangen, Germany, has received an order from the Ministry of Health of the Spanish region of Murcia for medical technology, service, and financing valued at 132 million euros ($174 million U.S.).

Siemens will provide two hospitals in the region with more than 100 imaging systems, including CT scanners, mammography systems, and ultrasound systems, over the next 15 years.

The contract includes both maintenance and equipment replacements at predefined intervals with the newest models of the company's product line.
