Swedish technology developer Sectra reported solid growth in revenues in its medical division in the company's fiscal 2006 second quarter (end-October 31).
For the period, Sectra's medical systems unit reported sales of 146.3 million kronor ($21.53 million U.S.), a 20.7% upsurge compared with the 121.2 million kronor ($17.84 million) posted in the same period a year ago. The division's operating profit decreased to 11.3 million kronor ($1.66 million), compared with an operating profit of 22.5 million kronor ($3.3 million) the year before.
The Linköping-based firm noted that its second-quarter profit margin for the division was impacted by the cost of its investments in the medical market.
