The European Society of Radiology (ESR) has revealed the candidates for next year's election for Executive Council positions.
The voting period for the electronic elections will run from 8 to 21 January 2026. All full members of ESR in good standing are eligible to vote; according to the society, eligible members will receive an invitation to vote via email. The ESR currently has more than 142,000 members from 188 countries.
Additionally, ESR noted that all membership fees must be paid by 31 December 2025 in order to be able to vote in the elections and that members must ensure the email address in their user portal is correct so that they may receive the voting invitation.
The contest for second vice president will be between Prof. Emanuele Neri, from Pisa, Italy, and Prof. Maija Radzina, from Riga, Latvia. The winner will become ESR president in 2028/9 and ECR president in 2029, after Prof. Mathias Prokop, PhD, and Prof. Marie-Pierre Revel, PhD, complete their terms of office.

The German Roentgen Society (DRG) is encouraging its ESR members to support the German candidates running in the election.
These candidates include Dr. Daniel Pinto dos Santos of University Medical Center Mainz, who is running for Finance & Internal Affairs Committee (FIAC) chairperson, and Prof. Dr. Roman Klöckner from University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein (Lübeck Campus), who is running for ESR Quality, Safety & Standards Committee (QSSC) Chair.
