VIENNA - Ultrasound technology developer Zonare Medical Systems of Mountain View, CA, has released version 3.5 of its z.one scanner platform at this week's European Congress of Radiology (ECR).
The latest version includes a number of new features, including a full-screen display mode that enables users to view images across the entire monitor. A Virtual Array feature enables users of linear-array probes to see 15% more area, while a Steady Scan Persistence mode reduces noise and clutter in high-frame-rate images.
Users can also now hook up three transducers, a benefit for mobile use, and z.one also now includes a basic cardiac package for adult and pediatric patients. The company plans to release full cardiac scanning functionality at the 2008 RSNA meeting in Chicago.
In other news, the company announced that it has shipped its 1,200th scanner.
