It's important for radiology to be involved in curriculum planning at medical schools in Germany to ensure that medical students are familiar with the specialty in its entire breadth and variety, according to Dr. Birgit Ertl-Wagner, professor of radiology at Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich.
To help with that task, Ertl-Wagner has led a German Radiological Society (DRG) initiative to develop a model curriculum for radiological teaching. The curriculum is designed to help in individual curricular development and can be adapted to local circumstances, she noted in an interview published by the society.
Both the interview and curriculum can be accessed on the DRG's website.
