European Radiology creates editorial fellowship

The European Radiology Private Foundation has created the ESR Albert L. Baert Editorial Fellowship, the foundation said.

European Radiology is owned by the European Society of Radiology (ESR). The editorial fellowship program will provide fellows with training in editorial skills, such as manuscript evaluation, manuscript editing, organization of peer review, and manuscript production and publishing, including electronic publication.

One fellow will be selected each year and will be announced by the journal's editor-in-chief at its editorial board meeting, held during the annual European Congress of Radiology (ECR) in Vienna. Award winners will spend three weeks at the ESR's editorial office in Vienna and at the office of the European Radiology editor-in-chief. The selected fellow will also be awarded 4,500 euros to cover expenses.

Eligible candidates must:

  • Be certified radiologists
  • A member off the ESR
  • Provide evidence of a record of scientific or clinical research
  • Work in the field of radiology, as demonstrated by scientific presentations or publications

Applications should include a curriculum vitae and a letter of reference from the applicant's department chair. Deadline for applications is 15 December; they should be sent to both the incoming Editor-in-Chief of European Radiology, Dr. Maximilian Reiser ([email protected]) and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the European Radiology Private Foundation, Dr. Andy Adam ([email protected]).
