The deadline for applications for the 2021 European Radiology Albert L. Baert Editorial Fellowship falls on 31 October, the European Society of Radiology has announced.
Under the tutelage of European Radiology Editor-in-Chief Prof. Yves Menu, the fellow will learn editorial skills such as manuscript evaluation, manuscript editing, organization of peer review, and manuscript production and publishing. The fellowship will consist of onsite as well as remote training, and the selected candidate will be awarded 4,500 euros to cover expenses.
Candidates who are still in training or under the age of 33 will be preferred, the ESR noted. They must be a certified radiologist or senior resident and an active member of the ESR, and they will need to provide evidence of research and clinical activity by listing first author publications (minimum five PubMed-indexed articles).
The ESR has also announced the European Radiology Review Fellowships for 2021. This scheme is addressed at residents who want to be trained as reviewers. Up to 10 candidates will be selected, and they will perform reviews of manuscripts and have their work revised and analysed by a supervising editor, according to the ESR.
