November brings the return of Germany's annual radiographer and radiologic technologist "Action Days," where graduates in 12 German cities can explore the profession from the viewpoint of people who have chosen it as a career, according to the German Radiological Society (DRG).
"See what's inside you" is the slogan for this year's event, which invites potential students to explore the profession with programs and involves live demonstrations at any of 12 radiologic technologist schools in Germany. There, visitors can sign on for the "hands-on radiology" experience, including live tours and demonstrations of the latest imaging equipment including MRI, CT, and x-ray -- and a chance to interact with experienced radiographers and trainees, the DRG said.
Each x-ray image is produced with as little radiation as possible and as much radiation as necessary in radiology, where medicine meets technology, visitors will be told. Meanwhile, demand for radiologic technologists is high and the number of positions available keeps growing, making it an excellent career choice, the DRG said.
