Industry group publishes imaging IT manifesto

In a new manifesto, the U.K. Association of Healthcare Technology Providers for Imaging, Radiotherapy and Care (AXREM) has outlined the plans and priorities of its Imaging IT Special Focus Group.

The four-page document highlights challenges faced by all healthcare IT providers and all National Health Service (NHS) trusts and health boards, according to Bob Childe, AXREM Imaging IT convenor. The manifesto also casts a vision for safeguarding healthcare data in the NHS through comprehensive cybersecurity practices, according to its authors.

The imaging IT focus group's priorities include the following:

  • Cybersecurity
  • Streamlining workflows to optimize patient care
  • Pioneering accessibility and innovation
  • Advocating for supportive policies
  • Technology adoption/integration and innovation
  • Best practice and policy

“We hope to work together to minimize the risks by sharing knowledge between us and adoption and innovation of new technologies,” Childe said in a news release.
