The Round Table Foundation (TRTF) has given the 2019 Pro Academia Prize to Leonor Beleza for her efforts in promoting academic collaboration and scientific cooperation among researchers from a variety of disciplines.
Beleza formerly served as Minister of Health in Portugal and is the current president of the Champalimaud Foundation and Champalimaud Centre for the Unknown in Lisbon.
The biennial prize recognizes the efforts of scientists or scholars in furthering interdisciplinary academic exchange, noted Dr. Peter Rinck, PhD, TRTF president and chairman of the board of the Pro Academia Prize.
