The European Society of Radiology (ESR) and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) are furthering their collaboration on radiation safety by working together on a meeting next month.
The ESR is a cooperating organization for the IAEA's International Conference on Radiation Protection in Medicine: Achieving Change in Practice, taking place on 11-15 December in Vienna. Attendees will assess the progress of the implementation of the Bonn Call for Action on radiation protection and inform member states of advances in the field. The conference will focus on optimization and justification in medical exposure, safety in medical use of ionizing radiation, and radiation protection.
The ESR and IAEA joined forces earlier this year for a workshop on justification and appropriate use of imaging in Zagreb, Croatia, in October, attended by radiologists and officials from 18 European countries.
