While primarily a scientific meeting for radiologists, the ECR is also the official congress for medical imaging of the European Federation of Radiographer Societies (EFRS). At ECR 2018, there will be 21 sessions for radiographers, featuring 111 presentations over five days, and the sessions will be translated simultaneously from English into German, French, Italian, and Spanish, according to a statement from the European Society of Radiology (ESR).
Also at ECR 2018, the ESR will present a joint award with EFRS to recognize achievements in various categories.
Another element specifically for radiographers at the congress is the Shape Your Skills program, supporting 500 early-career radiographers by giving them free registration for ECR 2018 and two nights' hotel accommodation.
In addition, radiographers may join the ESR for 11 euros a year, which grants them access to a wide range of e-learning and other educational offers, as well as significantly reduced registration rates for the ECR.
A total of 7,200 abstracts have been submitted for ECR 2018, and for the first time the organizers have received more than 3,000 scientific papers, the ESR noted.
