The German Radiological Society (DRG) in July hosted a symposium on radiology in Nazi Germany at the University of Tuebingen. The meeting was hosted by Dr. Daniel Zips, chair of the university's radiation oncology department.
Lectures addressed the Nazis' use of radiology, including using x-rays to sterilize people who the Third Reich considered unfit to reproduce.
As part of the symposium, an exhibit titled "Radiology under National Socialism: The Splendor of the Art and the Shadow of the Memory" was mounted at the university. The exhibit includes wall charts and media stations that document the Nazis' criminal use of x-ray. It will remain open until 13 September.
