Siemens Financial Services has released research that identifies mobile imaging as an important investment area for healthcare in the U.K.
The report was based on interviews with management consultants, academic experts, national health departments, medical associations, and acute care organizations. The firm found that digitalized mobile imaging is one of three top technology investment areas that show promise for rapid impact on healthcare operations. The other two areas are telemedicine and "smart" digitalized hospitals.
The research estimates that capital investment in these areas in the U.K. will be 1.38 billion euros (1.17 billion pounds) over the next five years, the company said. This level of investment may be difficult for healthcare providers to realize, which could push investment into private sector financing, according to Siemens.
