French ultrasound developer Echosens has launched its new FibroScan 630 Expert elastography ultrasound scanner.
FibroScan 630 Expert features newly developed spleen stiffness measurement using vibration-controlled transient elastography (VCTE). The noninvasive biomarker can be used to diagnose and monitor liver health and assess portal hypertension, according to the company. FibroScan 630 Expert also has upgraded ergonomics, an embedded ultrasound guidance system, an intuitive user interface, and an integrated barcode reader, among other features.
Clinical guidelines have recognized that elevated liver stiffness measurement with FibroScan can be an effective way to establish the risk of esophageal varices, a common feature of portal hypertension, Echosens said.
