Cloud-based imaging platform developer DICOM Grid has released its medical imaging software application in Europe.
The company has also secured its first European customer: the Hospital Oncológico Virtual International (HOVI), based in Spain. HOVI evaluates clinical cases of patients who have been diagnosed with cancer, and who wish to obtain a second opinion, according to DICOM Grid.
HOVI will use DICOM Grid's DG Suite application to distribute imaging information to its oncology specialists network, the firm said.
DICOM Grid said it also recently completed the U.S. Department of Commerce's Safe Harbor privacy protection certification process. Safe Harbor certification was developed by the U.S. Department of Commerce in consultation with the European Commission to assist U.S. companies in complying with the EU's Directive on Data Protection, DICOM Grid said.
