Ultrasound and radiotherapy products developer CIVCO Medical Solutions is showcasing new products at this year's European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO) meeting in Barcelona, Spain.
CIVCO will highlight its Protura robotic patient positioner, which has been combined with radiation oncology firm Elekta's XVI and Mosaiq systems. Protura's integration with the Mosaiq oncology information system eliminates redundant manual entry of patient data and ensures patient information is consistent across systems.
Meanwhile, Protura's integration with Elekta's XVI image-guided radiation therapy system provides automatic population and application of all six depth-of-field correction values for effective patient positioning, according to CIVCO. These upgrades are pending clearance by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The company's new Universal Couchtop Long Extension facilitates better delivery of dose and target coverage by eliminating the interference of rails and junctions with radiation delivery, the firm said.
Finally, the company is also highlighting two new fiducial markers, FusionCoil and PolyMark. Both work with MR and CT, as well as with image-guided radiation therapy systems; PolyMark is a biocompatible polymer-based marker, CIVCO said.
