The worldwide market for flat-panel digital x-ray detectors is estimated to have produced $1.08 billion U.S. (1 billion euros) in revenues in 2016 and will increase at a 5.9% compound annual growth rate to reach $1.7 billion U.S. (1.58 billion euros) in revenues in 2024, according to a new report by Transparency Market Research.
Growth is being driven by the introduction of newer digital x-ray technologies in all key world regions, as well as the steadily lowering price caps of flat-panel technologies, according to Transparency. On the downside, the extremely strict regulatory framework for flat-panel x-ray detectors is one of the key issues holding back overall market growth, the company said.
