Cardiac arrhythmia patients have been successfully treated for the first time with Catheter Precision's Vivo arrhythmia localization system and Stereotaxis' robotic magnetic navigation technologies.

The first integrated procedures were completed by Dr. Sabine Ernst at the Royal Brompton Hospital in London, according to the companies.

Vivo uses information often collected before cardiac procedures to identify the cause of a rapid heartbeat. Anatomical data from CT or MR images acquired before surgery are combined with electrical information from standard 12-lead electrocardiograms to identify the source of arrhythmias in patients with idiopathic ventricular tachycardia and premature ventricular contractions.
