Philips Healthcare parent Royal Philips has signed a five-year contract with Erasmus University Medical Center in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, to provide ultrasound scanners and support.
Under the agreement, Philips will be responsible for obtaining and maintaining ultrasound units for all of Erasmus University Medical Center's departments.
The deal will make the center's ultrasound operations more efficient, Philips said: Currently, each of its different departments handle ultrasound alone, at times dealing with more than 10 different suppliers. Standardizing ultrasound operations will improve workflow and reduce costs, the company said.
