Radiation oncology vendor Elekta said Poliambulanza Foundation Hospital has become the first health center in Italy -- and the 50th worldwide -- to treat patients with its Leksell Gamma Knife Icon stereotactic radiosurgery system.
The new system at Poliambulanza was first used to treat a 70-year-old woman with a vestibular schwannoma, according to the vendor.
