GE Healthcare has designated the Affidea Center in Bucharest's Fundeni Clinical Institute, Romania, as a Center of Excellence in Oncology and a European reference center for the company.
According to a 10 January report in Romania-Insider, the announcement comes after Affidea's investment of 5 million euros in GE radiology equipment in Romania.
The designation allows Affidea Center Fundeni to host medical teams from Europe to study the best practices on the use of GE Healthcare technologies for the early diagnosis and monitoring of cancer patients.
More than 170,000 patients come to Affidea Center of Excellence in Oncology annually for diagnostics or treatment monitoring, according to the report.
