Radiation oncology firm Elekta is installing several of its systems at Proton Partners International's U.K. centers and its Leksell Gamma Knife Icon system in the Netherlands.
Elekta's Versa HD linear accelerator, Mosaiq platforms for radiation oncology, medical oncology, and proton therapy will be installed at the centers in Newport, Wales, and Northumberland, England. The order is valued at more than 5 million pounds and was booked during Elekta's second fiscal quarter.
The company also announced it is installing its Leksell Gamma Knife Icon at the Netherlands Cancer Institute-Antoni van Leeuwenhoek Hospital, and the system is expected to be operational by August 2016.
The stereotactic radiosurgery system for the brain has an option to use frameless (multisession) or traditional frame-based treatments, and it offers flexibility in how clinicians deliver stereotactic radiosurgery.
