Philips Healthcare has installed its Ambient Experience technology at the Children's Hospital for Wales in the U.K.
The institution's entire oncology imaging department was turned into a "Latchmosphere" environment that features projected wall-sized animations, according to Philips. Designed to help children feel more relaxed by giving them some control of the imaging environment, the animations enable children to interact with elements of the lighting, projected imagery, and music within the department, Philips said.
Philips, Latch Welsh Children's Cancer Charity, and Koledo and Gielissen Interiors and Exhibitions participated on the project, which was designed via collaboration between designers and clinical consultants, Philips said.
