Philips Healthcare recently completed a two-day workshop in Lyon, France, to launch a four-year collaboration with the France Life Imaging consortium and Lyon University for spectral-photo-counting CT (SPCCT) technology.
The global researchers and principal clinicians who attended the workshop were able to examine the vendor's Spectral CT research scanner and discuss the future potential of spectral CT technology, according to Philips. The photon-counting scanner will be utilized by scientists from Lyon University and Philips Advanced Development CT at CERMEP Imaging Center in clinical areas such as atherosclerosis, myocardial infarction, thrombosis, stroke, angiogenesis, and oncology, Philips said. It won't be used for patient care, however.
