Bayer HealthCare's radiology division has received clearance from the U.K.'s Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) to market its MR contrast agent Gadovist 1.0 for newborn children and older.
Gadovist is used for imaging the brain, spine, and vessels. It facilitates visualization of abnormal structures or lesions and helps in the differentiation between healthy and diseased tissue, Bayer said. The MHRA approval makes the agent available to people of all ages.
