Carestream Health and partner Accenture have received a large PACS order from the Andalusia Health Service in Spain.
Expected to go live in late 2015, the PACS deployment will enable clinicians to manage, store, and share diagnostic imaging data across more than 1,600 healthcare facilities in Spain, according to Carestream. The vendor said equipment and systems will be installed in two data centers, each capable of storing 1.4 petabytes.
Data will be imported into the new system to enable physicians to have access to full radiological records, according to the firm.
The 6.7 million-euro project is based on a previous agreement with Andalusia Health Service and the public company Red.es, according to Accenture. It will be funded by the European Commission, through the Regional European Development Fund (FEDER), as well as the Junta de Andalucia.
