Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE)-Europe has named Dr. Peter Mildenberger as its new user co-chair and Cor Loef as its new general manager for the IHE-Services operation.
Mildenberger, a radiologist and professor at the University of Mainz, will work in close cooperation with IHE-Europe's vendor co-chair, Lapo Bertini. He was the unanimous choice of members at the IHE-Europe General Assembly and is a founding participant in the organization, IHE-Europe said.
Mildenberger succeeds past user co-chair Jacqueline Surugue.
Loef will be the first general manager for IHE-Services. He will be responsible for day-to-day operations in service delivery, with a particular focus on providing interoperability validation and conformance testing services to regional health programs, vendors, and healthcare providers, according to IHE-Europe.
A member-at-large of the IHE International Board and the IHE Europe Steering Committee, Loef served as co-chair of the DICOM Strategic Advisory Group and contributed to the Healthcare Interoperability Testing and Conformance Harmonization (HITCH) project. He has previously served as program manager for interoperability at Philips Healthcare, IHE-Europe said.
