Fujifilm Europe is pushing ahead with the launch of its FDR Amulet Innovality product incorporating tomosynthesis, 3D mammography, and biopsy support in a single full-field digital mammography system.
Innovality will support a wide range of 3D applications and volumetric techniques, providing high image quality, reduced dose, and improved patient comfort and ergonomics throughout, the vendor said in a statement.
A choice of tomosynthesis modes with variable dose and angulation allow users to tailor their imaging approach to the clinical scenario, the company said, and 3D visualization can be performed using variable doses and angles, and at exam times comparable to a 2D exam.
The system's amorphous selenium (a-Se) detector utilizes advanced detector geometry based on hexagonal close pattern (HCP) technology to provide increased sharpness, and dose reductions of approximately 20% compared with the previous Amulet detector, Fuji stated.
Finally, the system incorporates improved user ergonomics and better patient comfort, with reduced pain during mammography exams using new breast adaptive compression panels, according to the company.
