Queen Elizabeth has officially opened a new 3 million pound (3.5 million euro) MRI suite at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn National Health Service (NHS) Foundation Trust in the U.K., GE Healthcare announced.
The new suite, which features GE's Optima MR360 1.5-tesla and Optima MR450w GEM MRI systems, will help increase scanning capacity from 6,600 in 2008 to 13,000 within a few years, according to the vendor.
The opening was the queen's first official visit to the hospital since 2008, GE noted.
