IBA moves ahead with installation in Belgium

Ion Beam Applications (IBA) said it will install its compact ProteusONE single-room proton therapy system at Centre Antoine-Lacassagne, in Nice, France.

The 20 million euro ($26 million U.S.) project, which also includes a maintenance and service contract, is fully financed and slated for completion in 2015, and will be the first installation of its kind in Europe, IBA said.

ProteusONE, a new configuration of IBA's Proteus 235, includes new developments subject to regulatory review in the U.S. and Europe before marketing, the company noted.
