The Global Diagnostic Imaging, Healthcare IT & Radiation Therapy Trade Association (DITTA) said it applauds the decision to post the Global Harmonization Task Force (GHTF) documents on the International Medical Device Regulators Forum (IMDRF) website to enable IMDRF to collaborate with industry to reach for consensus as to which task force documents should be recognized and maintained by IMDRF.
The Global Harmonization Task Force Annual Conference is being held in Tokyo this week. DITTA said it recognizes the valuable contributions of GHTF in moving toward the global harmonization of regulatory frameworks. That effort requires continued collaboration between industry and IMDRF to choose which documents are maintained.
DITTA promotes efficient and appropriate global regulation that stimulates innovation and streamlines regulatory burdens. While GHTF is coming to an end, the documents it has developed over the past two decades are critical for promoting harmonization and should be maintained as a springboard for future innovation, according to DITTA.
