Siemens Healthcareis putting emphasis on results from a study it conducted with six of its customers in Germany, Austria, and Spain to measure the efficiency of its syngo.via software as compared to a conventional advanced visualization workstation, the company said.
The six medical sites that participated in the study measured seven different clinical workflows. The study found that syngo.via saved time and improved productivity in all of the observed workflows, according to Siemens.
Observed average time savings from syngo.via for CT cardiac scan was 77% and was 45% for oncology diagnosis with PET/CT, the company said. Using the software to diagnose oncology and neurology MR examinations resulted in 32% and 23% average time savings, respectively. Using the package to analyze images for CT vascular improved time by 27%, while using it to evaluate images for PET/CT and CT oncology follow-up was 30% compared to a conventional advanced visualization workstation and 16% faster than a PACS workstation, according to the firm.
