Image analysis firm Qmetrics Technologies said its quantitative MRI cartilage evaluation technique helped Piramal Healthcare get a CE Mark for its BST-CarGel product for bioorthopedic cartilage repair.
Piramal received the CE Mark in April, in part due to Qmetrics Technology's quantitative MRI-based image analysis work, which supported the primary outcome measures in an international multicenter clinical trial for BST-CarGel, Qmetrics said.
The approval underscores the value of noninvasive imaging methods for assessing therapeutic effect in randomized clinical trials, the company stated.
Qmetrics' automated image analysis core lab provides project management and image and statistical analysis for preclinical and clinical trials, with expertise in musculoskeletal and spinal conditions including arthritis, muscle-wasting diseases, and repair of bone and soft-tissue injuries.
