Image-guided therapy firm BrainLab announced that the university hospital Klinikum rechts der Isar in Munich is the first hospital in the world to use its Curve image-guided surgery system. The 1,100-bed facility is the university hospital of the Technische Universität München.
Brainlab's Curve is a navigation system that provides instant 3D visualization during surgery. Its navigation platform has multiple interfaces to support image sharing and enhancement. A streaming option enables surgeons to transfer live images outside the operating suite so that clinical staff can watch the surgery in process.
Quentry, the company's clinical online network, supports rapid sharing of patient data using cloud computing.
