Philips debuts ClearVue system at WFUMB

Philips Healthcare introduced its ClearVue ultrasound systems at the World Federation for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology (WFUMB) congress, held in Vienna in late August.

The products use proprietary Active Array technology, which results in enhanced image quality in both 2D and color images, lighter weight cabling, and increased transducer reliability, according to the company. The control panel is designed to speed image acquisition for enhanced ease of use. Customizable SmartExam protocols to standardize the ultrasound exam process from planning to reviewing are designed to help streamline workflow and enhance productivity.

The scanners are streamlined, lightweight, and energy-efficient, and have a modular design for increased reliability and easier serviceability, according to Philips. They are available in Europe, India, Australia, and New Zealand, but are not yet commercially available in North America.
