Siemens Healthcare has sold a Biograph mMR to MRT, Nuklearmedizin und PET/CT Zentrum Bremen Mitte, a private radiology practice in Bremen, Germany.
This represents Siemens' fifth sale of the fully integrated whole-body molecular MR with simultaneous MR and PET imaging system since its introduction in 2010, and its first sale to a private radiology practice. The other systems are deployed at university hospitals and research centers with a focus on clinical research.
The Biograph mMR system will be used to examine patients for oncological and neurological diseases at the group practice. A whole-body scan with the molecular MR system can be completed in approximately 30 minutes, compared with an hour or longer for sequential MR and PET examinations. This capability enables an imaging department or center to improve workflow with respect to patients who need both diagnostic procedures.
