Swedish 3D mammography developer XCounter has signed an exclusive, worldwide agreement for the development and supply of photon counting digital x-ray detector technologies with an undisclosed healthcare imaging company.
Under the terms of the agreement, XCounter will develop and supply its partner with digital 3D x-ray imaging detectors based on its proprietary photon counting and solid-state material technologies.
Depending on the success of the R&D project and assuming commencement of supply of detectors, the agreement has an aggregate value of up to 50 million euros ($72.6 million U.S.) over the next nine years, according to the company.
