Dear PACS Insider,

In Austria, the Health Region Waldviertel has sought to make full use of teleradiology to address challenges such as an aging population, clinician shortages, and the need to balance radiologist workload across different locations.

Thanks to some new Web-based tools, radiologists in the region are able to directly access images from other institutions without having to leave their own viewing environment. Learn how they're doing that by clicking on our coverage here.

Speaking of teleradiology, a French research team found that concerns over who would perform after-hours emergency ultrasound scans shouldn't be a roadblock for hospitals considering implementing an overnight teleradiology service. Click here for the details.

AuntMinnieEurope.com's columnist and editorial advisory board member Dr. Neelam Dugar also delves into the growing practice of teleradiology platform-based reporting in her latest article, which you can access by clicking here.
