Digital x-ray developer Thales and NEHS Digital are collaborating on a French defense ministry project that will use artificial intelligence (AI) with lung CT exams to combat COVID-19.
The collaboration is an effort to support healthcare providers coping with the dramatic increase in imaging the COVID-19 pandemic has prompted, according to the firms. It will use Thales' AI software with NEHS Digital's telemedicine infrastructure to analyze CT lung scans and offer initial diagnoses.
Thales and NEHS Digital's project was chosen after a call for projects launched by the French Ministry for the Armed Forces to combat COVID-19, the two companies said.
