Postprocessing image analysis provider Precision Image Analysis (PIA) has signed core lab agreements with toSense and Erasmus University for their ongoing research projects.
One pact involves toSense's CoVa monitoring system, which features a body-worn sensor for at-home patients with chronic illnesses, such as congestive heart failure. PIA will provide analysis for toSense to add stroke volume and cardiac output measurements to the CoVa monitoring system for a regulatory application that will be submitted to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Erasmus University in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, is using PIA's services for its Generation R study. The population-based prospective cohort study will focus on some 10,000 pregnant women and their children relative to maternal and fetal health, fetal and infant common childhood diseases, and genetics and epigenetics of common childhood diseases.
