Vienna-based vascular ultrasound developer Piur Imaging has launched the Remote Expert remote image analysis platform for research users.
The platform uses artificial intelligence to automatically quantify tomographic scans submitted remotely. Piur specialists will then verify the results, make needed adjustments, and approve the outcome before sending the scans and report to the user.
The Remote Expert service will first include the following applications:
- Carotid plaque volume quantification
- Abdominal aortic aneurysm volume measurements
- TI-RADS classification of thyroid nodules
Researchers, pharmaceutical firms, and medical device companies can use the platform to implement clinical studies with 3D tomographic ultrasound, Piur noted. The platform also enables standard ultrasound equipment to offer 3D imaging capabilities.
