U.K. issues advice on autocontouring in radiotherapy

The U.K. Royal College of Radiologists (RCR) has released new guidance called "Auto-contouring in radiotherapy." It's available for free download.

Auto-contouring in radiotherapy (RT) is a rapidly evolving area of innovation, RCR said. The guidance has been developed to aid all healthcare professionals involved in the practice and explains the different stages of selection, implementation, and ongoing monitoring of an autocontouring system to support the safe clinical use of the new technology.

This document is endorsed by the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine’s Radiotherapy Special Interest Group (RT-SIG) and is part of a wider RCR initiative to provide education in AI, share expertise and experience of using AI in oncology, and shape the future of AI in healthcare.

The full guidance can be found here.
