DRG highlights UNESCO event on 10 September

The German Röntgen Society (DRG) is highlighting the presentation of the official UNESCO certificate that will celebrate the entry of selected x-ray images by Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen.

 

The images come from the archives of the German Röntgen Museum in Remscheid-Lennep and will be entered into the UNESCO Memory of the World Register. The Federal Foreign Office and the German UNESCO Commission will present the certificate.

Six x-ray images will be entered into the register. Among these are the x-ray image of Anna Bertha Röntgen's hand from 22 December 1895 and the radiograph of the Röntgen hunting rifle.

 

The presentation will be held at the Monastery Church in Remscheid-Lennep - Minoritensaal on Wednesday, 10 September at 5 p.m. It will be a public event that will be accessible without registration.

 

Among the key speakers will be Prof. Dr. Christiane Kuhl, from Aachen University Hospital, and Dr. Uwe Busch, director of the Röntgen Museum.
