Having to seek refuge from bomb attacks in the basement of the university happens two or three times a day while she is teaching anatomy to trainees, says Dr. Uliana Pidvalna, PhD, from Lviv. In a video interview at ECR 2022, she spoke about the challenges she faces in her daily life.
Pidvalna is an assistant professor of normal anatomy at Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University. She started working in radiology in 2019, when she learned about how to perform CT exams. She was one of the 147 professional attendees from Ukraine who attended ECR 2022. On the second day of the congress in Vienna, she received an alert about an air attack on an imaging facility in Vinnytsia, a three-hour drive from her own city.
